Duration: 1 turn + 1 round per caster level

Area of Effect: 1 person, object or creature

Components: V, S, M

Casting Time: 3

Saving Throw: None

Description: Halundra was a wizard with a profound gift for illusion who used that talent to become one of the most unknown spies of his generation.  Today most people have heard of Halundra but the notoriety that he achieved was posthumous.  His diaries and spell books were discovered in the inside of a chimney in a tumbledown tavern on the edge of a small town.  How they came to be there, and what became of the wizard are still mysteries, though some speculate that Halundra’s illusions were so convincing that he tricked himself and was destroyed by them.

False Detection allows the caster to present an illusionary duplicate of any single thing.  The caster must be touching the item to be duplicated at the casting of the spell.  Casting creates an illusion which matches the object in every respect.  If the object has the ability to move it will move away from the caster at its normal rate, moving in any direction the caster desires.  If a scrying or detection spell is cast seeking the object it will always find the duplicate object rather than the original while this spell is in effect.  The duplicate object has no mass and will be destroyed if it is forcefully struck at which point the spell is ended.
